9/17/1964 Mr. J. J. Valick - La Salle Texas - Land abut[t]ing the Garcitas Creek and next to Bennetts Park - Have permission to work the place over.
Mr. Joe Vimick - adjoining place and also abuts creek and on which some evidence of habitation was found on a hill overlooking creek. Top of a high bluff. Have permission to work the place over. This appears to be the site of the 1st location of the Mission Espiritu Santos de Zuniga.
Mr. Geo. Schettek - owner of place next to the Vimick place - have permission to work this place over
Mr. Leissner - adjoining Mr. Schettek - All above farms run to creek - High ground above creek. or Flats 50 to 70 feet.
7/20/1966 - West Ranch - Ward Ranch - Exploring west side of the Lavaca River - And Menefee Flats - was given permission by Mrs. Ward to go anywhere on ranch that may be of interest in trying to locate the La Salle settlement.
Note/ There has [sic] been two small cannon balls plowed up in a small garden place, near the Ward Ranch house on Dimmitts Point - The only part of this 12,000 acre ranch ever plowed.
